Born in Bordeaux in 1992 into a family of artists, Jordan Victoria began playing the violin at the age of four at the Conservatoire National de Région de la Ville, in the class of Jean-Luc Fort, Richard Galichet and Manuel Solans. He quickly participated in masterclasses and workshops, notably with Maxim Vengerov, Krzysztof Wegrzyn and Boris Garlitsky.
At the age of 7, Jordan Victoria played his first concerto with orchestra and took part in various international competitions where he was regularly awarded prizes. After these years of violin studies, crowned with the Bordeaux city prize, Jordan Victoria was unanimously accepted at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris at the age of 16 in the class of Boris Garlitsky and Igor Volochine, where he obtained his master’s degree brilliantly.
Passionate about chamber music, he founded the Arod Quartet in 2013, with whom he won numerous prizes such as the ARD competition in Munich in 2016. The quartet was named BBC New Generation Artist in 2017 and ECHO Rising star in 2018. The quartet has performed in major international venues and festivals such as Carnegie Hall, the Paris Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Salzburg Mozarteum, the Vienna Musikverein, the Verbier and Aix-en-Provence Festivals, the Mozartfest Würzburg…
Jordan Victoria and the Arod Quartet are recording exclusively for the Erato/Warner Classics label with a first album Mendelssohn (2017), then a second album devoted to the figure of Mathilde Zemlinsky and with the participation of the soprano Elsa Dreisig (Schoenberg, Zemlinsky, Webern/2019) which won the Edison Klassiek 2020. Their new CD ‘Schubert’ will be released in autumn 2020 to great public and critical acclaim.
