Born in Bordeaux in 1992 into a family of artists, Jordan Victoria began playing the violin at the age of 4 at the Conservatoire National de Région of his city, in the class of Jean-Luc Fort, Richard Galichet and Manuel Solans. He quickly participated in masterclasses and workshops, notably with Maxim Vengerov, Krzysztof Wegrzyn and Boris Garlitsky.
At the age of 7, Jordan Victoria played his first concerto with orchestra and participated in various international competitions where he was regularly awarded. After these years of violin studies crowned by the prize of the city of Bordeaux, Jordan Victoria was unanimously accepted at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris at the age of 16 in the class of Boris Garlitsky and Igor Volochine where he obtained his master’s degree with distinction.
Passionate about chamber music, he founded the Arod Quartet in 2013, with whom he won numerous awards such as the ARD competition in Munich in 2016. The quartet was named BBC New Generation Artist in 2017 and ECHO Rising star in 2018. It performs in the most important international halls and festivals, such as Carnegie Hall, Paris Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Mozarteum Salzburg, Musikverein Vienna, Verbier, Aix-en-Provence, Mozartfest Würzburg…
Jordan Victoria and the Arod Quartet record exclusively for the Erato/Warner Classics label with a first album Mendelssohn (2017), then a second album dedicated to the figure of Mathilde Zemlinsky and with the participation of the soprano Elsa Dreisig (Schoenberg, Zemlinsky, Webern/2019) which notably won the Edison Klassiek 2020. Their new CD “Schubert” will be released in the fall of 2020 to great public and critical success.
